Broxburn ELC, part of Broxburn Primary serves the community of Broxburn in West Lothian. The setting is open 50 weeks per year, staff work flexibly across the opening hours 7:45am until 6:20pm.

Our nursery (ELC) is at the heart of our establishment, we value the essential work that takes place in the Early Learning and Childcare Setting. It is in the ELC that children and families are supported to form an attachment that will support every child to reach their developmental and early learning goals.

Broxburn ELC offers children a wide range of learning experiences. We manage continuous improvement through robust self-evaluation and implementation of the School Improvement Plan. We are seeking an enthusiatic practitioner to join the team part time, working Monday, Tuesday and every Friday.

The successful candidate will work as part of a forward-thinking team, bringing a sound knowledge of child development and will respond to the individual needs of each child, providing high quality interactions and learning experiences.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
