Responsibilities
- Manage the council’s Financial Management Unit and provide the council’s core financial and management accounting functions.
- Develop a financial strategy to meet the objectives of the council; report to the Director of Finance and Property Services.
- Maintain a current knowledge of developments in local government finance and ensure the authority’s interests are protected at all times.
- Forge working relationships within the council and with external parties; demonstrate an innovative management approach.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous personal, staff and service improvement.
- Demonstrate a successful record in public sector financial management.
Qualifications
- CCAB qualified.
- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of commitment and drive for continuous improvement.
- Experience in public sector financial management.
Additional information
In your role you will be required to maintain a current knowledge of all developments in local government finance and ensure that the authority’s interests are protected at all times.
