We are currently recruiting for a Non-Executive Board Member to take up appointment from 1 August 2026. Our Board includes members with a range of skills and expertise in the public, private and voluntary sectors as well as elected student, staff and trade union representatives. The roles are voluntary and are not remunerated however travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Previous experience as a Board Member is not essential as you will be provided with induction and training. As a Board member you will be expected, as a minimum, to attend 4 Committee meetings, 4 Board meetings and 2 Board Strategy events during the year. Our Board members are also encouraged to participate in a number of wider college events such as the annual student Graduation Ceremony.

We are looking to recruit a new board member who can complement and extend the skills matrix of the current Board. You will have relevant skills, the ability to understand complex issues and be able to constructively challenge within a Board environment. The successful candidate will have previous experience at Board level and a background in audit and risk management.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of twenty members, working together with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure that West Lothian College delivers the best learning experience for the growing number of young people and adult learners in the region.
