West Lothian College are looking to appoint an outstanding lecturer who will demonstrate the necessary commitment and enthusiasm to contribute to our Business, Creative and Enterprise team. Working within this friendly and knowledgeable team, you will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and a varied learning experience, focussed on progression and employability.
Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer to contribute to the delivery and assessment of a range of courses from SCQF Level 5 to Level 7 in Art Design and Contemporary Art Practice. We are looking to expand and diversify our team and are seeking a talented individual from within the field of contemporary art who is passionate about their teaching. You will develop course materials for online and face to face learning, work flexibly and collaborate effectively with other members of the College.
We are looking for an innovative and inclusive approach to the teaching of contemporary art, therefore, you should be able to demonstrate an awareness of contemporary critical issues and have an understanding of the many environments in which contemporary art takes place with practical knowledge of working with artists and audiences in different ways.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate that they have experience in the following aspects of creative delivery:
- printmaking techniques
- textiles and fabric
- 2D mixed media
- digital skills
- sketchbook
The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum SCQF Level 9 in a relevant discipline and will be a highly motivated and professional individual. To be selected, you will be student focused, enthusiastic, well organised and have outstanding communication skills.
This contract is to teach Schools Evening Portfolio Skills Schools and Friday Folio which runs on Thursday 5pm-8pm and Friday 1:15-3:15pm for blocks 1 and 2. There would be opportunities to join our lecturing staff bank following this.
