An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Technician (Electrician) to join the busy and vibrant London Estates Maintenance Department at West London NHS Trust.

London Estates Maintenance Department requires a highly motivated, reliable and flexible Technician (Electrician) to work as a key member of the Estates Team. You will play a proactive role within the team, delivering key objectives to meet both departmental and Trust requirements.
The post holder will assist the Estates Directorate to provide a comprehensive and responsive Estate Management Service to all of the Trust\’s properties.

You will be a hands on maintenance Technician (Electrician) who is able to deliver the full range of duties associated with the post holder\’s core electrical trade.

Main duties of the job

• As an NVQ level 3 qualified electrical Technician you will be required to carry out works as per all minor new work, reactive and planned maintenance work requests which have been assigned to the in-house Estates Maintenance Team under the supervision of the Building Services Technician.

•Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, HTM’s, Trust standards, polices and procedures, such as; Meeting statutory requirements of the Electricity at Work regulations, HTMs. Act as a Competent person according to HTMs

• Carry out new work request, reactive work requests and weekly planned preventative maintenance dockets efficiently, to performance targets and with minimum disruption to staff and patients

• To work in accordance with the requirements of HTM’s, HBN’s, Model Specifications, relevant Statutory Regulations, Codes of Practice, Building Regulations, British Standards and Trust Policies.

Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship or other approved training scheme, plus relevant experience.

Experience

  • Significant experience of commercial environment
  • Significant experience with all types of electrical installations, inc, lifts, panic, fire, nurse call and all LV systems.
  • Experience with testing standby generators
  • Worked in the NHS.

Knowledge

  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge and high standards in the field of Electrical experience.
  • Familiar with Health and Safety law in workplace.
  • Ability to carry out fault finding on control panels and lighting circuits.
