Job overview
As a band 5 MSK physiotherapist, you will have the opportunity to learn alongside developing your clinical skills for practice. Participation in our in-house development program will also equip you with skills and attributes essential to the rest of your career. You will be fully integrated into a larger team with a focus on delivering high-quality care at the right time and place.
As the successful candidate, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership skills, and good organization skills: able to plan your own work but also work effectively within a team. You will carry a varied caseload of musculoskeletal complaints with a view to utilize all treatment and care options as appropriate, with the support of a named supervisor.
Main duties of the job
- Carry out effective and appropriate assessments using knowledge and skills combined with clinical reasoning, and contribute towards accurate diagnosis.
- Work with patients to identify and agree treatment goals, delivering patient-centered care based on assessment outcomes.
- Use communication, reasoning, and negotiation skills to establish a working partnership with patients, families, and carers.
- Plan and lead patient group sessions as clinically relevant.
- Address all risk areas associated with individual patients’ ability to function.
- Contribute to effective discharge planning.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions/treatments using outcome measures.
- Represent the Physiotherapy Service within the multidisciplinary team and participate in relevant team/network meetings.
- Work with assistants and technical instructors regarding clinical caseloads and provide necessary support on clinical issues.
