We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Ealing Crisis Assessment and Home Treatment Team. The team works closely with inpatient and community services to support individuals experiencing a mental health crisis outside of hospital, offering care in people’s homes and within the Crisis Recovery House run by our VCSE partners at Waythrough. This newly developed post will work alongside an established Psychologist already embedded in the team. Ealing has recently launched a borough‑wide commitment to becoming a trauma‑informed service, supporting staff to deliver stabilising and psychologically informed interventions.

The post‑holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, providing a psychological perspective on care, supporting risk management, and delivering assessment, formulation and brief interventions to service users and families. They will also help develop psychologically informed approaches across the MDT and contribute to reflective practice, team formulation and post‑incident support. The service is working towards accreditation with the Quality Network for Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams, and the post‑holder will support meeting and maintaining psychological standards. Regular supervision will be provided by a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist experienced in acute and crisis mental health, and the post‑holder will be fully integrated into Ealing psychology services.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing psychological therapies to service users and their families offering assessment, formulation, risk assessment and brief evidence-based interventions when indicated.
  • Offer indirect work ensuring that all members of the multidisciplinary team have access to a psychological framework for understanding the service user’s needs.
  • Developing the MDT’s knowledge and skills to deliver a range of psychological interventions to service users care through teaching, training and (where appropriate) supervision.
  • Work as an integrated clinical member of a multi-disciplinary team, which will include responsibility for ensuring the systematic provision and governance around the delivery of psychological interventions.
  • Utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development as appropriate.
  • Participate as a senior clinician and be an integral part of the leadership team involved in the development and delivery of a high quality service.
  • Function as an autonomous practitioner and be responsible for their own work; working within their professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures.
  • Facilitation of reflective practice to a team/ward within the Ealing Borough Adult MH service line.

The service is working towards accreditation from the Quality Network for Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams, and the post holder would be actively involved in ensuring the psychological standards are met and maintained.
