An exciting opportunity has arisen in Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS for a skilled and experienced Band 8a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners Supervisor/Service Development Lead Clinician to

join the Community CAMHS (Tier 2) on a full time permanent contract.

We welcome applicants from a wide variety of professional backgrounds and this role is open to Clinical/Counselling Psychologist / Family Psychotherapists/Nurses/ Psychotherapist / CBT Therapists with BABCP accreditation and with a keen interest of delivering and supervising staff to deliver evidence-based low intensity and guided self-help interventions.

The team is a large and growing multidisciplinary team, offering a range of targeted, early interventions to children and young people age 0-18 who

are experiencing mild-moderate mental health difficulties and developing relationships in community organisations such as youth

groups, faith groups as well as in children’s centres, family hubs and GP settings.

There many opportunities for ongoing staff development and

training.

The post holder will join an established multi-disciplinary CAMHS which is responsible for providing Tier 2 mental health services within the borough. The post holder will work in Hammersmith and Fulham Community CAMHS with young people aged 0- 18 years. The clinic setting is based in central Hammersmith and there may be some travel to other parts of the borough to attend community settings.

This role will include the co-ordination and appropriate delegation of work and necessary staff support; leading on choosing appropriate cases,providing supervision and opportunities for the team’s Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner’s to develop their skills and competence, as well as supporting the requirements trainee CWP have for their course.

The post holder will support the training the CWPs receive to enable them to deliver, under close supervision, high quality, brief, focused and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties (low mood, anxiety and behavioural difficulties). These interventions may be offered either individually or through group work with young people/families.
