Essential criteria
- RN /Midwife with current registration with NMC
- Specialist Community Public Health Qualification in Health visiting or School Nursing
- Relevant post registration study at degree level and Continued Professional development in relevant specialist areas safeguarding children, Mentorship Preceptorship or equivalent teaching course, Specialist Practice Teacher/ Teaching Qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating expectant women, children, young people and their families in their own homes and a range of settings including working with vulnerable/safeguarding families
- 3 years post SCPHN qualification with experience in working independently and as part of a team including corporate working
- Experience of leading/managing a skill mix team
- Experience of appraisal & objective setting
- Evidence of introducing change and innovation
- Experience providing clinical supervision & supporting other team members
- Experience of partnership working
- Experience of supervising/mentoring students
Desirable criteria
- Experience of audit
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Professional standards including confidentiality, clinical governance and NMC guidelines
- Risk assessment and management
- Knowledge of health and safety and personal safety issues including Infection prevention and control standards
- Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Procedures
- Understanding of current legislation and its implications for this role, including performance indicators and targets
Skills
Essential criteria
- Evidence of effective clinical and leadership skills
- Good organisational skill and safe approach to decision making
- To assess / co-ordinate and delegate workload to varying staff skill mix
- To demonstrate high level of interpersonal and communication skills when communicating with clients, other team members and external agencies
- Excellent IT skills including use of clinical record keeping systems
