Your Role! You will lead the safe and efficient operation of the Waste Transfer Station at Robert Hodge Depot, overseeing the weighbridge, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with waste licences and health and safety requirements. The role includes operating the site plant, arranging waste collections, maintaining site records, and supporting recycling and continuous improvement. Your hours of work will be 36 hours, Monday to Friday between 6 am and 6 pm, dependent on operational requirements.
Qualifications You will be a proactive and reliable team leader with experience in waste management or a similar operational environment. You will hold GCSEs (or equivalent experience), a full UK driving licence, and a plant operator's qualification with experience using a mechanical loading shovel. You will have supervisory experience, strong health and safety awareness, good IT and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure with a flexible, resilient and customer-focused approach.
