Make a measurable impact. Lead a service that every resident relies on. We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Waste Services Manager to become the Council's lead waste expert and drive both the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of our statutory waste collection service. This is an exciting time to join us as we roll out new refuse and recycling collections—including food waste—and continue to modernise our services.

You will have the opportunity to shape the future of waste and recycling, championing innovation and continuous improvement to deliver a high-performing, efficient and value-for-money service that meets all legislative requirements.

As an experienced operational manager, you will bring:

  • A relevant environmental degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong, current knowledge of waste management legislation and statutory responsibilities
  • Proven success delivering high-performing services in a fast-paced, pressured environment
  • The ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence producing clear reports and information for a range of audiences
