We are looking for an experienced Business Support Officer who is interested in working in a fast-paced role within our Business Support Team. You will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective administrative support service to several operational teams within the organisation, whose administrative functions have been assigned to Business Support. These teams will include Environmental Services, Housing, Planning and Regulatory Services and Corporate and Customer Services.
The key skills you will demonstrate within this role are:
- Inputting and extracting data using a range of management information systems, to support with the processing of purchase orders/invoices and working to strict timescales, to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner. This will also include collating data to support with performance management.
- To respond to telephone, written enquiries and electronically delivered queries ensuring that the appropriate information and advice is provided.
- Retrieving of files from the basement, off site storage, including filing and co-ordinating of files.
- You will need excellent ICT skills, including the ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook and other ICT packages as required.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing, liaising with members of the public, senior managers, and staff members within the organisation.
- Excellent organisational skills, work methodically, be able to prioritise your workload, work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
- You will be a team player and will have the ability to use your initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate a resilient and positive attitude with the ability to contribute constructive ideas to the team to support continuous improvement.
The post holder will support the development of a positive organisational culture that is outward looking, evidence based, and customer focused. You will adhere to the Council’s Expected Behavioural Standards ensuring that a high standard of customer care is maintained and dealt with in a courteous manner.
