The postholder will:
- Lead on the commissioning and management of all procurement and consultant activities on behalf of the Estates and Facilities Management Service.
- Lead on the development of and delivery of the Corporate Asset Management plan.
- Maintain appropriate strategic partnerships across relevant internal and external service areas e.g. planning, economic development, neighbouring authorities, ensuring synergy of strategic commercial and community asset issues in the delivery of asset management initiatives.
- Contribute to place shaping and the creation of a vibrant and profitable commercial and community asset portfolio by using evidence and intelligence to proactively undertake options-based asset reviews.
- Maintain high standards of the delivery of estates property services in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing circumstances and conflicting demands.
About you:
- Educated to degree level.
- Ideally hold membership of CIH, RICS, CIEH or other relevant professional body.
- Experience in a commercial property, regeneration setting.
- Experience in the formulation of corporate asset management policies and strategies and evidence of contribution to corporate goals. Able to propose, develop and implement strategies and plans.
- Experience in working on projects with partners from other organisations in accordance with the ethos of One Public Estate. Able to make effective links with and involve key individuals and organisations to promote the council's housing interests and secure resources for the council.
- Experience in the preparation and submission of property related tender specifications.
- Experience and an understanding of commercial property law, including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
- Confident team player, able to work under own initiative.
