We are looking for a Business Support Team Leader to join our busy and dynamic team, helping us provide an efficient, flexible and customer‑focused service across the Council.
About You! As a key member of the Business Support function, you will provide effective line management to a team of Business Support Officers and Business Support Assistants, supervise and motivate staff to ensure the smooth delivery of administrative and operational support. You will manage workloads, allocate tasks, and maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and service quality.
Your key skills will include:
- Excellent organisational skills, with a commitment to providing a quality service and attention to detail.
- The ability to use your initiative, prioritise your own workload, working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Experience of supervising and leading a team on a day-to-day basis to ensure timely completion of tasks, taking positive action to ensure that the Council meet its statutory responsibilities and customer expectations.
- Effective decision making and problem solving, being able to identify a range of appropriate solutions to issues and problems.
- The ability to allocate work, monitor staff workloads and plan staff resources effectively, to ensure the provision of a resilient and flexible service.
- To seek to continuously improve the performance of the team and service through implementation of changes on a regular basis, with a resilient and positive attitude.
- Recruitment, induction, supervision, the monitoring of sickness including formal meetings, and development of less experienced colleagues in the performance of more complex tasks to facilitate the achievement of individual and team goals.
