Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Leaning Support Advisor to join our highly successful Additional Learning Support team. The team provides a range of support for students with a wide range of learning difficulties or disabilities to enable them to access the educational opportunities offered by the College.
You will be required to support learners at our campuses based in Hemel and Watford. Your focus will be supporting learners in the classroom and assisting teaching staff to meet the diverse needs of learners. You may also spend some time supporting learners in out of class support sessions. Some knowledge of EHCP and the procedure associated with gathering information for annual review meetings is desirable.
You must be able to work well within a team and cross college colleagues and have the aptitude to work independently, when required. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of students. Keeping accurate records is essential. Ideally you will be educated to at least Level 3 and have already worked with 16- to 19-year-olds and/or adults with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
A pro-active and resourceful, learner-focused approach is required as you will be involved in creating individual support strategies plans, working collaboratively with curriculum-based colleagues. Keeping accurate records is essential.
An understanding of the specific educational needs of such students within an FE setting is desirable but a proven enthusiasm for this area of work essential for this exciting opportunity.
