Our Radiology Service is expanding! Starting in April 2025, our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) will offer enhanced services to patients.

We are seeking experienced Radiographers in CT and/or MRI to join our dedicated team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust, beginning in February 2025.

Radiographers will participate in our 7-day working model, featuring long shifts that will provide ample time off during the week. You will primarily be based at St Albans City Hospital, with the flexibility to work at our other locations, Hemel Hempstead Hospital and Watford General Hospital.

The development of the Community Diagnostics Centre, equipped with modern CT and MRI scanners, will enhance service quality for patients by increasing scanning capacity and reducing referral-to-treatment times.

The positions are perfect for current band 5 and 6 Radiographers with CT and/or MRI experience who want to expand their skills and become part of our established team.

Main duties of the job

  1. Act as an effective member of the Radiology team, delivering high-quality imaging services to patients.
  2. Mentor radiology staff and students.
  3. Complete and maintain records for QA testing.
  4. Adhere to IRMER17 regulations while performing radiology examinations to the highest standards.

Education and qualifications:

Essential

  • Either DCR(R) or BSc Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Evidence of up-to-date CPD.
  • HCPC registration.

  • Aware of current trends relevant to the profession.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance process and policy related to clinical area.

Experience:

Essential

  • Post qualification experience across a range of modalities.
  • Wide range of experience in CT/MRI.
