Schools Programme Officer: Primary

Location: East London & Essex | Salary: ÂŁ28,500 | Contract: Dec 2026 (extendable)

Company: The award‑winning West Ham United Foundation is using football to ignite imaginations, boost confidence and transform classrooms across East London and Essex.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and grow our Extended Services offer from PE to clubs.
  • Recruit new primary schools and build relationships with Headteachers.
  • Deliver inspirational PE lessons, classroom activities, football coaching and more.
  • Coordinate and deliver our Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) programme.
  • Plan, track and evaluate sessions to keep winning on the pitch too.
  • Engage children from diverse communities and help them develop life skills.
  • Work with the Education team to shape the future of WHUF’s school programmes.

Requirements

  • A passion for helping children learn, grow and be active.
  • Experience working with primary‑aged children in schools or community settings.
  • A Level 2 coaching qualification (any sport) and confidence delivering PE.
  • Creativity, motivation and the ability to plan inspiring sessions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build great professional relationships.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, equality and doing things the right way.
