Company Description
We are seeking a Performance Analyst who thrives in the fast-paced environment of elite sport. The ideal candidate will remain composed under pressure, demonstrate strong game intelligence, and bring the creativity and technical expertise needed to support our First Team. Applicants should be proactive, analytically driven, and motivated by the challenge of delivering high-quality insights in a demanding performance setting.
Your Matchday Duties (a.k.a. Key Responsibilities)
- Deliver detailed, actionable analysis to coaches and senior management ahead of every fixture.
- Support the coaching staff through video, documentation and other relevant sources.
- Travel with the team for home and away fixtures - setting up technical matchday workflows and providing real-time analytical insights.
- Analyse, interpret and report specific insights into patterns and trends from both a team and individual perspective.
- Track competition data and feedback key findings that align with our KPIs and West Ham playing identity.
- Help maintain and reinforce the Club’s football philosophy using evidence-based analysis.
- Provide feedback on players, units and team performance in collaboration with coaching staff.
- Support the response to ad hoc queries and requests from management, coaches and players.
- Developing a close working relationship with key members of the Analysis department to aid continual progression and provide a more efficient workflow.
- Being proactive in the organisation and implementation of performance analysis-based CPD learning activities.
- Build strong relationships with teammates in the Analysis department to aid continual progression and provide a more efficient workflow.
Skills & Experience – What You Bring to the Squad
- Significant first team analysis experience in a professional sporting environment.
- Confident delivering live match analysis in busy, high-pressure stadium environments.
- Excellent knowledge of analysis tools such as SportsCode, Studio, SBG Matchtracker, Coachvision, Second Spectrum, and third-party platforms like Wyscout, Keynote and Tableau.
- Strong tactical understanding of the game.
- First-class written and creative presentation skills.
Qualifications – Your Footballing CV
- BSc in Performance Analysis, Sport Science or a related discipline.
- Coaching badges are a bonus (but not essential).
