West Ham United is proud to offer a matchday experience that is inclusive, welcoming, and accessible for all supporters. As a Disabled Supporters Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that our disabled fans – both home and away – enjoy a safe, comfortable, and memorable visit to the London Stadium during the 2025/26 season. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated, supportive team and represent a Club that puts its fans first. You’ll be based at one of the Premier League’s most iconic venues, supporting a loyal and passionate fanbase.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting disabled supporters from arrival to departure, ensuring their journey is smooth and stress-free.
- Helping fans through turnstiles and to their allocated seating areas.
- Supporting shuttle bus operations in collaboration with the West Ham United Foundation, including pick-up/drop-off.
- Setting up and distributing visual and hearing aid equipment, such as audio headsets for visually impaired fans.
- Meeting and greeting fans, offering guidance and a friendly face throughout the day.
- Escorting away fans (including those using wheelchairs) to their seating and transport post-match.
- Being visible and responsive around the stadium, especially during peak arrival and departure times.
- Supporting car park operations to ensure safe departure of disabled fans.
- Participating in all required safeguarding and disability awareness training.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the safety and welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk of harm across all stakeholders. Everyone, including third parties who work with the Club or the West Ham Foundation, is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals. Successful candidates must undergo essential background checks before starting their employment, which may include screening of social media. The type of DBS check required will depend on the responsibilities of the position and may be basic, standard, or enhanced.
The successful candidate agrees to proactively identify and respond appropriately to any concerns, and follow the Club's Safeguarding reporting procedures to report allegations of abuse, poor practice, or anything that may impact the welfare of a child, young person, or adult at risk without delay, within 24 hours, or as otherwise directed by the Club’s or the West Ham Foundation Safeguarding Team.
