We are looking for a proactive and organised site-based Group Buyer to join our Purchasing team. Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring we source the right materials, equipment, and services to support our operations and projects across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main purchasing contact for engineering and operational teams.
  • Manage purchase requisitions and ensure timely, accurate ordering.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, monitoring quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Prepare RFQs and tender documents, supporting cost analysis and supplier selection.
  • Drive cost‐reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for improved sourcing and standardisation.
  • Evaluate costs, quality, and suitability of suppliers, materials, and equipment; select and support the development of suitable vendors.
  • Maintain compliance with procurement policies and promote safe working practices.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' procurement experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier‐management skills.
  • Logistics and compliance (manufacturing environment) is desirable.
  • High level of numerical accuracy and analytical ability.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; Maximo essential.
  • CIPS qualification (or studying toward it) is desirable.
