Job Description
West Dunbartonshire Council is looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and committed to sustaining school improvement and providing high quality learning and teaching, in line with key Council priorities or inclusion and raising the aspirations, achievements and attainment for all students.

You will find the Head Teachers report template attached to this advert, this MUST be completed by your Head Teacher and attached to your application form before the closing date. Please upload your Head Teacher Report in the \βCOVER LETTER\β section of the application, you are not required to write a cover letter.
FOR VACANCIES AT DENOMINATIONAL SCHOOLS
Evidence of Catholic Church Approval β Applicants must seek Catholic Church Approval when submitting their application for the post and a copy of the Approval should be provided to the Chair of the Panel prior to the interview. Where this is pending we will seek confirmation from our Church Representative that approval application has been submitted.
Denominational Primary Posts
Applicants for permanent posts in a denominational primary school must also have the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate.

Responsibilities
This post is considered a Regulated Role with Children under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are \\\βspent\\\β under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Education body and removal from the Register of the General Teaching Council.
