PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE CASUAL POSTS AS AND WHEN REQUIRED WITHIN THE DUMBARTON/ALEXANDRIA AREA - NO FIXED BASE.
Duties will include assisting in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations 2008, compliance with all the relevant legislation as required and setting up/clearing away equipment for food service.
The post holder’s duties will include general cleaning to a high standard including crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, kitchen and dining room areas, staff rest room and toilets.
The post holder will require to adhere to Food Safety System, Safe Systems of work and Health and Safety Legislation. Knowledge of such legislations would be an advantage as would previous experience in this type of work.
Applicants should hold an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate as this is an essential requirement for this role.
The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act.
