West Dunbartonshire Council has a fantastic opportunity for two talented individuals to be Apprentice Electricians. The Modern Apprentices will join the Council's Maintenance and Repairs team who are responsible for carrying out in excess of 60,000 repairs/alterations, capital investment improvements and safety checks to Tenant & Owner Occupied properties Factored by West Dunbartonshire Council each year among other projects.
Maintenance and Repairs have 3 depots, one based at Cochno Street, Clydebank and the other 2 based at Overburn Avenue & Elm Road, Dumbarton covering both Alexandria and Dumbarton geographical areas. We are looking to recruit two Modern Apprentice Electricians, one to be based in our Cochno Street depot in Clydebank and one at our Overburn Avenue depot in Dumbarton.
We welcome applications if you are aged 16-24 years (or up to age 29, if you are disabled or care experienced), a resident within West Dunbartonshire, Minimum 3 National 4's to include English, Maths or a science or technical practical subject.
Modern Apprentices work towards SVQ in Electrical Installation at SCQF Level 7. This will include attendance at College to complete required SVQ units; produce a work based portfolio of evidence and complete a Final Integrated Competence Assessment (FICA) Test. Full completion of all elements will lead to a Modern Apprentice completion certificate in Electrical Installation.
This will be a training contract and the posts are fixed term until 01/09/2029.
