Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? Would you enjoy working in a supportive environment, helping to guide West Dunbartonshire’s youngest learners on their educational journey?

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and flexible individual who is passionate about working with children. This role offers you the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the quality of care and overall wellbeing of our children.

The successful candidate will provide flexible support in the role of Learning Assistant at Balloch ELCC.

The work pattern for this post is Monday – Friday from 12:00pm – 2:45pm.

Applicants are required to be registered with, and maintain registration with, the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Support Worker in Day Care of Children’s Services. More information can be found at: www.sssc.uk.com

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.

Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
