As this post is part time, term time, the salary will be pro-rata to the hours worked. West Dunbartonshire Council are delighted to offer the opportunity to highly motivated applicants who have a passion for working with children. The successful candidates will offer flexible support in the role of Learning Assistant working across Early Learning and Childcare Centres. This post is peripatetic, and successful applicants may be relocated to a different centre at any time, based on service needs. The work pattern for this vacancy will be agreed with the Head Teacher to meet the needs of the centre.
Applicants are required to be registered with, and maintain registration with, the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Support Worker in Day Care of Children’s Services within 3 months of appointment.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
