As a Household Waste Services Recycling Operative, your role will be to work as part of a team and to carry out all duties involved in a Household Waste Recycling Centre. These include manual lifting, dealing with members of the public and other WDC departments whilst ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed on the site. You will advise members of the public on correct separation of waste, work in all weather conditions and keep the site in a tidy condition. You will be responsible for the safety, security, maintenance and proper use of HWRC waste facilities in accordance with the Waste Management Licence/Working Plan and Health and Safety regulations. There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to their own Health & Safety and others around them.
The working pattern is Monday and Sunday 4 days on and 4 days off rotation. Summer hours are April to September from 8:00am to 7:45pm and Winter hours are October to March from 8:00am to 5:45pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break each day.
