Job Description

PAY AWARD PENDING.

This is a part-time, term-time position with a salary that will be pro-rata based on hours worked.

If you are enthusiastic about working with children and interested in early learning and childcare, the Early Year’s Assistant role could be suitable for you.

Working as part of the early year\’s team, you will supervise children during lunch and handle laundry duties. Experience with children aged 0-5 in early years or school settings is essential. You should have good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, a friendly yet firm approach, and the ability to work independently and follow instructions from the head of the establishment.

Flexibility is important; availability during 10.50 am – 2.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 10.50 am – 2.10 pm on Friday (or as directed by the head) is required.

Requirements

This role involves regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, and PVG scheme membership is essential. Details about the scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will need to join or update their PVG scheme before an offer is made.

Responsibilities

The position is exempt from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants must disclose all convictions; failure to do so could lead to dismissal or disciplinary action.
