The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.

This post is fixed term until 09/05/2027. This is a part time, term-time post and the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children, especially in the early years (ages 0–5), can support a team and also take initiative independently and is reliable, organised, and flexible with time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising children during lunch periods to ensure safety and positive interactions.
  • Carrying out laundry duties (likely includes cleaning linens, uniforms, or materials used in care/education).
  • Collaborating with the Early Years team to support the daily routine and ensure a nurturing environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with children aged 0–5, either in a nursery, pre-school, or early primary setting.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A friendly yet firm manner – essential for working with young children.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction from the Head of Establishment.
  • You need to be flexible/adaptable and available during 10.50am – 2.00pm Monday - Thursday and 10.50am to 2.10pm on a Friday (or the hours defined by the head of establishment).

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
