This advert is to join West Dunbartonshire Council's teaching supply secondary list. The post is for various locations/schools throughout the West Dunbartonshire area and for teachers who are currently available to undertake supply work.

Supply teaching opportunities are available throughout the area, and we are looking for individuals with GTCS registration and knowledge of current planning and assessment procedures and national/local curriculum priorities to join our pool of Supply Teachers.

West Dunbartonshire recognise the importance of supply teachers in ensuring continuity of effective teaching and learning to our pupils. We are committed to supporting the professional development of supply teachers, and can arrange training and development opportunities to enable you to realise your full potential. Requirements

You will find the Head Teacher's report template attached to this advert, the relevant form (Teacher or Promoted Teacher) MUST be completed by your Head Teacher. Please upload your Head Teacher Report in the 'COVER LETTER' section of the application; you are not required to write a cover letter. Please note you will be unable to submit your application for our consideration without your Head Teacher's report; any submitted without a Head Teacher's report will be automatically rejected.

Responsibilities

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment, any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Education body and removal from the Register of the General Teaching Council.
