The predicted salary is between 22600 - 25000 € per year.
The salary will be pro-rata'd to the part-time hours worked. As a Home Carer, you will provide high-quality personal care and practical support to vulnerable people within their own homes, in line with the Health and Social Care Standards. Your role will help enable people to live independently, safely, and with dignity.
You will work in a variety of home settings and may be required to use appropriate moving and handling equipment, sometimes in awkward positions, always following safe moving and handling regulations to minimise risk to service users and yourself.
- Deliver personal care in accordance with individual care plans, reporting any changes in a service user’s condition to the Care at Home Organiser.
- Support service users to remain living independently at home and support hospital discharge, particularly where long-term health conditions impact daily living.
- Assist service users with medication in line with the Medication Support Policy for Community Health and Care Services, including prompting, assisting, and administering medication where required.
You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or willing to register. A caring, compassionate, and professional approach to supporting vulnerable people is essential. You should have the ability to follow care plans and policies accurately, good communication skills, and a commitment to dignity, respect, and person-centred care. There is a willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required, and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
Comprehensive induction and ongoing training will be provided. The work pattern is a 5 and 2 rota, meaning you will work 5 shifts one week and the second week will be two shifts. Evening posts and split shifts are available.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential.
