Overview

Reporting directly to the Principal ELC Officer, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of a comprehensive clerical and administrative service supporting the operations of an Early Learning & Childcare Centre. You will ensure the smooth running of the nursery office and provide a welcoming, professional reception service, responding to all enquiries by telephone or in person. Your duties will also include managing and maintaining nursery data, ensuring all records are accurate, up to date, and stored on the appropriate computerised systems.

Responsibilities

  • General office duties including photocopying, filing, document preparation, mail distribution, and routine cash handling (receiving and recording payments for school activities and uniforms).
  • Assisting with the arrangement of transport and outings.
  • Responding to enquiries by telephone or in person and maintaining a welcoming, professional reception service.
  • Maintaining nursery data and records on the appropriate computerised systems.

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.

Requirements

  • This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
  • Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, along with strong organisational and communication skills.
