The predicted salary is between 13 - 14 £ per hour.

This is a fixed term post until 26/06/2026. The post is part-time, term-time, and the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours/weeks worked. (Hourly Rate: £13.64 - £14.49)

Bus Escorts are required to be employed to support transportation of pupils with Additional Support Needs for travel to and from their educational establishment. Hours required to work are approximately 7.30/7.45am to 9am and 2.45pm to 4.30pm throughout the school week.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with children and be able to show empathy and understanding for the pupils' needs.

Requirements

This post is considered as a Regulated Role with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
