Do you enjoy early mornings, fresh air, and working outdoors in all weathers? Whether it's a beautiful sunrise or a rainy day, this role could be perfect for you. We are looking for HGV driver/loaders with a valid Class 2 licence and a current CPC certificate to join our refuse collection service based at Torr Quarry and Ivybridge Depots.
Experience in waste and recycling is helpful, but enthusiasm and a strong work ethic are just as important, so don't be put off if you're new to the sector. This is a physically demanding role where, when not driving, you could be walking up to 10 miles a day. The work continues in all weather conditions, including rain and occasional snow, so you must be comfortable working outdoors year-round.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving a refuse collection vehicle used for kerbside collections of wheeled bins and recycling boxes, as well as supporting the collection of waste and recycling when required. Safety is a top priority, and you will be responsible not only for your own wellbeing but also for that of your colleagues, other road users, and the vehicle you operate.
You will also need to accurately record the work completed and report any issues using a mobile tablet provided, but full training will be given to ensure you feel confident in all aspects of the job.
