Why This Role?

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our innovative and supportive Engineering team. As a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, you’ll have the chance to make a real impact by delivering high-quality education and hands-on experience to our students.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Industry Expertise: Solid industry experience and continuous professional development, you’ll bring valuable insights from the engineering world into the classroom. Teaching experience is desirable, although not essential.
  • Desirable Skills: Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) is essential. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality learning within Engineering. Broad base engineering knowledge is required which may include Mechanical engineering principles - statics - dynamics, - mechanical systems - materials and manufacture - maintenance practices - CAD and engineering drawing - pneumatics and hydraulics - workshop theory and practical applications - health and safety etc... You will be expected to contribute to curriculum development and work collaboratively with colleagues and employers to ensure provision reflects current industry practice and skills needs.
  • Qualifications: You must hold a minimum of SCQF Level 7 in an Engineering qualification, alongside a recognised engineering apprenticeship (SCQF Level 6 or equivalent).
