As Payroll Administrator your role will primarily be focussed on the payroll function of Westcoast Ltd but with some support for overseas payrolls. You will complete various administrative tasks and checks to process payroll in a timely and accurate manner whilst identifying opportunities to improve processes and being involved in Payroll projects.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Payroll Specialist with payroll processing for circa 1100 employees in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands (expansion likely)
  • Collaborate with the HR team and utilise the attendance management system on absence and holiday reporting
  • Handle any queries relating to payroll, pensions and benefits.
  • Manage onboarding administration including starter paperwork from the point of employee start date
  • Calculate statutory calculations for all occasions
  • Liaise with managers and HR to gain payroll information
  • Upload and send timely payroll information for static and variable allowances via templates and emails. The primarily across Cintra (UK) and IRIS (overseas).
  • Upload various pension scheme contributions to pension providers including Cushon and enrol employees to the auto-enrolment scheme.
  • Seek and identify opportunities to improve and enhance current processes
  • Participation in Payroll projects as required

To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience and the desire to develop in other areas:

Essential

  • Excellent administration and organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel (ideal but we can provide training)
  • Good communicator at all levels
  • Self-motivated learner - able to quickly pick up processes and develop knowledge of the company
  • Good time management
  • Works well under pressure and to deadlines

Desirable but not essential

  • Experience in payroll processing start to finish
  • Knowledge of Auto Enrolment
  • Interested in gaining a payroll qualification (qualification sponsorship will be considered)
