West Coast Thermal Ltd (WCT), established in 2000, is Cumbria’s only specialized company offering both thermal insulation services and licensed asbestos removal. Based in West Cumbria, we proudly employ local talent and ensure continuous professional training for our staff. WCT has earned a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work across a diverse client base, including local authorities, councils, hospitals, housing associations, and more. We hold longstanding memberships with industries like TICA (Thermal Insulation Contractors Association) and ACAD (Asbestos Control).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report any incidents under RIDDOR to HSE.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture.
  • Conduct workplace and site inspections/audits in line with the SHEQ Improvement Plan and audit programme.
  • Carry out risk assessments.
  • Lead in-house training with managers and employees about HSE issues and risks, as well as delivering new employee inductions and other HSE training initiatives.
  • Produce and carry out toolbox talks.
  • Ensure memberships, licenses, certification and accreditations remain current, including Asbestos Removal Licence, Waste Carriers Licence, Constructionline, CHAS, SMAS, SafeContractor, etc.
  • Be responsible for Fire Safety by carrying out routine testing and checks of fire safety equipment.
  • Prepare and review COSHH assessments for hazardous substances.

Person Specification:

  • Well organised, diplomatic, proactive, assertive and well-disciplined.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and client/external interface skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
  • A track record of working with teams and prioritising workloads.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work under own initiative.

30 days holidays + bank holidays. Company Vehicle provided or Annual Car Allowance.
