We are looking for a Bus and Coach Mechanic to join our Engineering team at our Campbeltown depot. You will play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable and compliant so that we can continue to deliver high-quality services across the region.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet, including MOT preparation.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle defects to the highest standard, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained in line with the Company’s Operator Licence requirements and relevant legislation.
- Accurately complete maintenance records, defect reports and associated documentation.
- Work both independently (including occasional lone working) and as part of a wider engineering team.
- Organise and prioritise daily workload effectively to meet operational needs.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and maintain a clean, safe working environment at all times.
Requirements
- Energetic, self-motivated, able to work unsupervised in a busy workshop environment.
- SVQ Level 3 in Bus and Coach Engineering & Maintenance (or international equivalent). Alternatively, a minimum of two years' proven experience in maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles.
- Full driving licence is required; PCV licence desirable.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle electrics is beneficial.
- Experience using TEXA, Jal-test or similar diagnostic systems is an advantage.
Working Pattern
We operate a rotational working pattern, working Monday to Friday and every 4th Saturday. Saturday shift paid at time and a half.
