We are looking for an experienced and motivated Engineering Supervisor to join our team at our Glasgow depot. This is a hands-on supervisory role, where you’ll lead daily workshop activity, ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and compliance standards, and support the reliable delivery of our services. You’ll play a key role in protecting our operator licence, maximising fleet availability, and supporting depot performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day workshop activity and allocate work to engineering staff
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained in line with DVSA, manufacturer, and company standards
- Monitor defects and ensure timely and effective rectification
- Support MOT preparation and improve first-time pass rates
- Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance with procedures
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of engineers and technicians
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and support reporting requirements
- Coordinate effectively with operations teams and external suppliers
About You
- Proven experience in a supervisory or senior technician role within PSV, HGV, or automotive engineering
- Strong knowledge of DVSA compliance and maintenance standards
- Ability to lead teams and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
- A proactive and safety-focused approach
- Desirable: Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- PSV licence (or willingness to obtain)
- IRTEC accreditation
