Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive parenting assessments, including risk and safeguarding concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with families to provide support and guidance in improving parenting practices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of information, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and other professionals regarding parenting assessments.
  • Contribute to multi‑agency meetings and conferences to advocate for the best interests of children.
  • Support and mentor less experienced Social Workers, sharing knowledge and expertise to promote professional development.

Qualifications

  • Registered with Social Work England and holds a relevant Social Work qualification.
  • Extensive experience in Social Work, focusing on assessment and intervention with children and families.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislation, policies, and best practices related to safeguarding and parenting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and multi‑agency partners.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, evaluating complex information to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing competing demands and prioritising tasks.
  • Positive, solution‑focused approach with resilience in challenging situations.

Please note this role is fixed‑term for two years after the start date – Funding limited project.
