If so, West Berkshire Council has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Education Services team as an Early Years Improvement Advisor.

The Role

As an Early Years Improvement Advisor, you will work collaboratively with the Early Years Principal Advisor to drive improvement in early years settings across West Berkshire. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice and guidance to early years providers to support them in achieving and maintaining good or outstanding Ofsted inspection outcomes.
  • Conducting visits to settings to assess quality and offer tailored improvement advice.
  • Delivering training and workshops on relevant early years topics to enhance practitioners' skills and knowledge.
  • Analysing data and trends to identify areas for improvement and target support accordingly.
  • Collaborating with other local authority services to ensure a holistic approach to supporting children and families.
  • Contributing to the overall strategic development of early years services within the Council, working alongside key stakeholders to improve outcomes for children.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working in early years education and care, with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Proven ability to support settings in achieving improvement, with experience of conducting quality assessments and providing constructive feedback.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with early years providers, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Data analysis skills, with the ability to identify trends and make evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
