Overview

West Berkshire Council is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Central Family Hub as an Apprentice Family Support Worker. This is a fantastic role for someone who is passionate about supporting families and wants to gain valuable experience in the field of family support.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the delivery of group interventions for families
  • Supporting the Family Support Workers and Practitioners to undertake home visits and provide one-to-one support to families
  • Contributing to the assessment and review process for families
  • Working collaboratively with other agencies and services to ensure holistic support for families
  • Planning, preparing and delivery of universal sessions for children and their families

This role is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop essential skills in family support work. You will be enrolled in a Level 4 qualification in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship, which will provide you with the knowledge and understanding necessary to excel in this field. This is a fixed-term role for 3 years.

About You / Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and families
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards learning and development
  • No prior experience is necessary, as this apprenticeship is designed for individuals who are new to the role. However, a willingness to learn and a commitment to completing the apprenticeship are essential.
