What you\’ll do

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive work at our water recycling sites in Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, and surrounding areas. You will be part of the Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrumentation (EM&I) team, assisting the Manager with workload organization and collaborating with site operation teams, other departments, and contractors to ensure site compliance.

Your responsibilities include maintaining plant machinery, fault finding, diagnosis, and resolution. You will also participate in the standby rota and continuously seek improvements to enhance site reliability and compliance.

Additional duties include:

  • Planning and organizing workloads
  • Working with contractors
  • Inspecting and monitoring assets
  • Reviewing SCADA trends for system performance
  • Managing critical spares
  • Promoting safety and working within DSEAR zones
  • Supporting scheme delivery and plant maintenance
  • Implementing operational improvements
  • Contributing to energy efficiency and cost reduction
  • Engaging with contractors and promoting health and safety

What you\’ll need

Applicants should have extensive experience in mechanical or electrical fault finding and PPM within a 24/7 operational environment. A City & Guilds/BTEC, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant apprenticeship is required.

Knowledge of health and safety practices is essential, along with good communication and problem-solving skills. Formal electrical training (dual skilled) and sewage treatment process knowledge are desirable but not mandatory.
