In this hands-on and interesting role, you will be reporting to the Payments Team Leader. You will support the business-critical payments function, providing excellent insight and exposure across payments, purchase order matching, statement reconciliation, and payment processing activities.
This is a hybrid working role, You have the option to work part of your week from home after completion of an initial training period.
What you\'ll do
In this varied role, you will:
- provide a cash and payment service in a manner consistent with the objectives of the company
- process purchase invoices and action supplier queries
- prepare pay runs on a daily/weekly basis and action urgent payments as required
- effectively and promptly deal with supplier reminders, final demands, and legal notices
- ensure accurate and timely payment to suppliers/contractors in accordance with Late Payment Legislation
- verify subcontractors\' CIS deductions and make/check relevant postings
- update and maintain supplier accounts
- provide support in the management of day-to-day Treasury department matters, including the input and release of payments and files processed through the online banking portal
- produce monthly reports
- assist with ad hoc requests and administration duties as and when required.
As well as offering excellent career prospects, you will benefit from a performance bonus of up to 10% of your annual salary. We will also support you in gaining your AAT qualification.
What you\'ll need
To succeed in this role, you will:
- be qualified to GCSE level or equivalent, in English and mathematics
- have proven capability within an accounts payable capacity
- have experience using Microsoft Office, with strengths in Excel and Word
- have excellent written and verbal communication skills, both face-to-face and on the telephone
- be able to manage your own workload effectively, working to key service levels
- be confident, assertive and self-motivated
- have a \'can do\' and proactive attitude
- appreciate the importance and strengths of working within a team.
A working knowledge of Unit 4 Agresso is advantageous butnot essential.
