If so, we have a great opportunity to join our existing team of experienced and highly motivated HR Advisers.
Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.
What you'll do
You'll be joining a friendly and supportive People team providing advice and support to our managers across the full range of employee lifecycle activities.
This is a generalist HR advisory role with a heavy focus on high-volume employee relations case management, in a fast-paced, unionised environment.
There will also be opportunities for involvement in HR projects, continuous improvement work, policy and process reviews, reporting and data analysis.
You will provide comprehensive and consistent advice across your business areas and support managers with employee relations and other people matters.
You will advise on probation reviews, disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, flexible working, short/long term sickness absence and medical capability.
You will attend formal meetings as and when required and support occupational health referrals, working closely with our dedicated Occupational Health Advisers.
You will advise on risks in terms of employment law and elevate concerns to your HR Business Partner when necessary.
The role will be based in Bath at our head office (in Claverton Down) but will also involve travel to our various sites across Somerset and Dorset to support managers across our region.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you will need to
- have strong organisation and prioritisation skills with experience working within a fast-paced environment in a similar role
- have previous experience working within a HR advisory capacity , including but not limited to grievances, disciplinaries and sickness management
- have sound knowledge of employment law, its application and best practice HR
- be an experienced problem solver with the ability to negotiate or influence successful outcomes
- contribute to the development of people initiatives and identify opportunities to improve our people policies and practices
- be a highly effective communicator and relationship builder at all levels of the business
- coach people managers to deliver people solutions and improve management capability across the business
- use data and metrics to highlight trends and demonstrate commercial awareness.
With a CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent experience, you'll be
