Do you enjoy presenting information graphically? If so, we have a great opportunity for you in our Automation department as a trainee telemetry compiler! If you are computer savvy, have excellent organisation and communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail, then this could be the perfect role for you.
Our Automation department provides an end-to-end service to a wide range of internal customers, including Commissioning Engineers, Process Scientists, and Operators. As a telemetry compiler, you will be expected to provide YTL Construction UK (Infrastructure) with an outstanding service and support experience in the configuration of telemetry graphics.
The work is varied, interesting, and critical to the remote monitoring and maintenance of Wessex Water\’s water supply and wastewater recycling works.
What you\’ll do
Joining the team, the successful candidate will receive full training to help them understand our terminology and get up and running.
Your role will involve:
- modifying and creating graphics for displaying alarms and data using the prism/ScopeX telemetry package
- inputting data and information into computer graphics
- using Microsoft Excel, Access database, mimic drawing, and testing
- regularly communicating with colleagues over the phone, face-to-face, and via email.
An important part of this role is being able to clearly communicate and collaboratively work with your colleagues effectively, especially when handling change requests for new projects.
What you\’ll need
To be successful, you must have good IT skills, an ability to present information graphically, coupled with exceptional attention to detail and the capacity for concentrated periods of work on your own initiative. These qualifications and your excellent interpersonal skills will allow you to develop and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders.
The work is varied and interesting with multiple projects, and so you will need to be highly organised to meet programme dates.
You will be working at our Operations Centre in Claverton, Bath. A driving licence is not essential, although it would be advantageous for some limited travel to operational sites.
