Are you an engineer with a STEM degree who is motivated to help reduce flooding, pollution and inflows to our assets? Do you have an interest and experience in Sustainable Solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to further your career as an Engineer by joining our dynamic, forward‑thinking, high‑level Assessment team.
What you'll do
- Working in the Network Delivery team within the Engineering and Asset Management Department, you will undertake investigations and deliver projects under the guidance of a principal engineer.
- High‑level assessments of flooding due to inadequate hydraulic and root cause analysis of pollution incidents.
- Concept design and delivery of Sustainable Drainage Solutions (SuDS).
- Partnership working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Commissioning surveys of Wessex Water sewerage and waste assets.
- Investigating inflow and infiltration into the sewerage network.
- Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Hydraulic analysis using computer models (InfoWorks ICM).
- Technical report writing and project presentation.
- Mentoring students and graduates.
What you'll need
- A degree or equivalent in an engineering, science or mathematics‑based subject at 2.1 or above.
- An understanding of sewer hydraulics (essential).
- Previous experience in design and construction would be preferred.
- Experience in SuDS would be advantageous.
- Excellent IT and communication skills.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- The ability to prioritise workloads to meet targets.
- A full UK driving licence.
