We have an exciting opportunity for a Reporting and Assurance Manager to join our Strategy and Regulation Directorate. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the company's continued excellent track record in regulatory submissions and assurance.
What you'll do
The reporting and assurance manager role is a highly varied position involving interactions with areas all over the business. It's a fantastic role to get an overview of all our key functions and the regulations that govern us and broaden your knowledge of how we operate. In this role you'll be:
- working closely with the regulatory reporting project manager to lead the delivery of the company's annual performance report, collaborating with colleagues across the business to continue to ensure our reporting is of the highest standard
- establishing governance and assurance arrangements for the annual review and managing the external audit relationship and assurance activities
- developing and implementing the company's approach to assurance of information and data, including for regulatory submissions
- developing and maintaining a log of all companies published reports and submissions to ensure awareness and consistency across the business
- engaging with external stakeholders such as industry groups, Ofwat, and consumer bodies as required
- supporting teams in a project management and governance role within Strategy and Regulation to deliver the strategic planning frameworks (the water resources management plan and drainage and wastewater management plan - WRMP and DWMP) and the business plan.
What you'll need
We're looking for a proactive individual who is able to work collaboratively, at times under pressure. The essential skills we're looking for are:
- degree level qualification (or equivalent experience)
- highly experienced in managing projects or programmes
- strong project management and organisational skills
- experience in regulatory reporting or assurance, ideally within the utilities or regulated sectors
- excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Experience in delivering internal or external audits would be beneficial.
