As a Development Manager in the Planning and Development team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a vibrant new commercial district, from cutting‑edge offices and retail to leisure, laboratories, and infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity for you to step up into a role of greater influence and complexity, ideally with a background in project management, commercial surveying or development.
- Lead the delivery of commercial assets, including offices, retail, leisure, labs, advanced manufacturing, and hotels.
- Manage consultants and multi‑disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with design, commercial intent, and construction handover.
- Coordinate major commercial phases, including masterplan interfaces and site‑wide strategies (e.g. parking, public realm, energy).
- Collaborate with occupiers and anchor tenants, including YTL Arena, to align delivery with strategic planning.
- Integrate leasing strategies into design, working closely with the leasing manager on agreements for lease and legal negotiations.
- Guide legal processes for contracts, transfers, leases, and exits, through to commercial close.
- Manage efficient handover of projects to YTL Construction for the build phase, including managing appointments, warranties and construction contracts.
- Support disposals and funding strategies, including investment sales and exit planning.
- Undertake financial appraisals, viability testing, and cash flow analysis to inform investment decisions.
What you’ll need:
- Experience in project management, commercial property surveying or development.
- A strong understanding of leasing structures and legal documentation (for example, Agreements for Lease and Development Agreements).
- A good understanding of construction legal documentation, such as JCT D&B.
- Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage consultants.
- The skills in financial appraisal, legal coordination, and commercial strategy.
- Experience across project phases from feasibility to delivery.
It would be desirable, but not essential, if you also have the following:
- MRICS or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
- Exposure to mixed‑use regeneration and placemaking.
- Familiarity with smart infrastructure planning (EV, microgrid, etc).
- Network of contacts across agents, operators, and investors.
