Would you enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary project delivery scheme team? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our small schemes team as a MEICA Project Engineer based in our North division.
What you'll do
As a MEICA Project Engineer, you will be responsible for both reactive and planned capital maintenance projects across a diverse range of sites, including water recycling, water production, sewerage and water distribution. The value of projects varies between £15,000 and £500,000. You will be based in the north area covering Mendip, Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire and Bristol. Projects can include:
- Pumping station upgrades
- The design and installation of inlet screen replacements
- Emergency wastewater treatment side streams
- Clean water treatment process upgrades
- A large range of sites, including Bio-Resource sites
Your role will involve:
- Optioneering
- Tendering
- Spend forecasting
- Project delivery
- Commissioning
- Authoring payments and project closedowns
- Working closely with our contractors and supply chain
- Ensuring that all health and safety and other statutory regulations that may affect the construction process are adhered to
- Ensuring company and departmental targets are met
- Assisting in the establishment of budgets and approvals
What you'll need
Ideally, you will be from a construction and/or water industry background with experience in project management and working closely with external contractors. It is essential that you have a safety-first approach and good negotiation and influencing skills. In addition, you will need to:
- Have a positive and 'can-do' attitude
- Be well-organised, customer-focused and a great team player
- Hold a technical level 4 (HNC) qualification in an engineering discipline (preferred but not essential)
- Be a professionally registered engineer (EngTech/IEng) or working towards this (support can be given on professional registration)
- Have a working knowledge of CDM 2015
- Have a valid driving licence (a company car will be provided if you are not able to use your own vehicle)
- Have supply, water production, and distribution knowledge (preferred but not essential)
- Have mechanical or electrical experience (beneficial but not essential)
