An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Diabetes Practice Nurse to join our dynamic and forward thinking team at Mansfield Park Surgery.

We are looking for a Practice Nurse who has a specialism in diabetes.
Main duties of the job:
The Diabetes Practice Nurse will perform tasks prescribed and delegated by the GP Partners, working unsupervised to PGDs, agreed protocols and within defined competencies. The Diabetes Practice Nurse will assess patients and plan, implement and review treatment programmes. The Diabetes Practice Nurse will have shared responsibility for training and supervision of new members of the nursing team and colleagues.
Job responsibilities:
We are a training practice, use the EMIS Clinical system and have a strong emphasis on proactive teamwork. The successful candidate will work as part of the clinical team and be responsible for consulting with patients in respect of their continuing medical and nursing needs.
Diabetes reviews skills, to include:
- Interpreting results
- Starting and adjusting medication
- Promoting lifestyle changes
- Managing reviews and follow ups
Treatment room skills, to include:
- ECGs
- Removal of sutures/clips
- Wound care/dressings
- Contraception
- Cervical cytology
- Child and adult injections
Keep up to date with current guidelines and attend training updates as agreed with the practice.
